Wi-Fi 7 studies of manufacturers had started since the middle of last year, before Wi-Fi 6 became widespread yet. This year, too, chips that will shape the industry have started to be introduced one after the other. MediaTek Figic series is one of them.

What does Wi-Fi 7 offer?

Wi-Fi 7 will work in all available frequency bands, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. The technology provides 2.4 times faster data transfer than Wi-Fi 6, even with the same number of antennas. Wi-Fi 7 will become the backbone of home, office and industrial networks, providing fast data transfer for multiplayer AR/VR applications, cloud gaming, 8K video streaming and more.

MediaTek, which has the title of being the first company to introduce Wi-Fi 7 technology at the beginning of the year, is now preparing to launch its first products. The Figic 880 and Figic 380 chips stand out with their advanced connection options.

Filogic 880 is a candidate to be the fastest Wi-Fi 7 solution. The chip, designed in the 6nm process, can reach data transfer rates of 36Gbps with five bands. The chip, which can reach 10Gbps speeds in a single channel, is accompanied by 4 ARM Cortex-A73 core processors. Developed for Filelogic 880 routers and access points.

Filogic 380 can reach 6.5Gbps speeds with 3 bands. The chip, which can reach 5Gbps speeds in a single channel, will find its place in consumer products such as smartphones, televisions and laptops with Bluetooth 5.3 integration.
