We have reached Earth Day (Climate Change Day), which is celebrated on April 22 every year, this year as well. Earth Day, first celebrated on April 22, 1970, has been celebrated all over the world for 52 years. Companies are also trying to raise awareness for the day, which draws attention to climate change and environmental problems. As usual, Google has participated in awareness studies conducted by different brands for years. Google draws attention to the climate change that has occurred in 20 years with its Doodle.

Actually, drawing attention to Earth Day with Doodles it has been preparing for years, Google came up with real images this year instead of drawings or animations. Quickly revealing the 20-year change of glacial melting in Greenland, Google did the same for different geographies.

Google published Earth Day 2022 Doodle

In the published Doodle, the climate change experienced by four different regions from past to present was revealed. The doodle, which shows the decrease of the Harz forests in Germany, the condition of the corals in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the melting of the glaciers in Greenland in section, searches for the words ‘climate change’ on Google when clicked on it.

Doodles, which you can view separately in GIF format by clicking here, will remain on this screen all day. Drawing attention to the 22 April Earth Day with an animation last year, Google had doodled the tree theme. According to the statements made by company officials, Google, which is on the side of nature not only with words but also with activities, reduced the waste it created in 2020 by 40 percent.
