Matter Labs Hires Executive from Activision Blizzard to Manage Growth Plans
Matter Labs is known as the company behind the zkSync Layer-2 network operating on Ethereum. With the goal of bringing games to the zkSync platform, the company has hired former Activision Blizzard Community Vice President Michael Lee as senior vice president of growth. Lee’s mission will be to strengthen zkSync in the gaming industry and bring it to a wider audience outside of crypto natives.
At Activision Blizzard, Lee focused on the 400 million strong community of key games like Call of Duty and Overwatch. “My personal thesis is that an epic game can quickly reach ten million players only if it is beautifully designed and entertaining,” Lee said, noting that he expects significant application in the crypto space.
Matter Labs has announced that zkSync is a Layer 2 network that offers faster transactions at a lower cost, relying on the security level of Ethereum. Lee noted that the lack of proper infrastructure is a major hurdle, emphasizing that zkSync will support game development by AAA studios or elite game developers who are crypto-savvy.
