According to the information received, toys for both children and collectors are planned to be launched under the Matchbox brand. Both companies state that they welcome such cooperation. “As space exploration moves faster than ever before, we’re excited to partner with SpaceX and help every child develop unlimited space exploration opportunities,” said Nick Karamanos, senior vice president of entertainment partnerships at Mattel.
Space-themed collections will take place in the Mattel Creations product line, but which models will be in the collection have not been announced yet. Mattel has previously partnered with Tesla, another of Musk’s companies. Thus, in 2020, two Tesla Cybertruck-themed remote control cars were offered for sale.
