Marvel continues to bring us new series and movies released within the scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), where it has achieved great success in recent years. The company shared the names and vision dates of the productions that will meet us in the fifth and sixth phases of the MCU in the past months.
Announced at the San Diego Comic Con event, this calendar saw that many new productions, including two new Avengers movies, will meet with us. However, the developments experienced today revealed that Marvel has postponed some of these productions that will add new characters to the universe.
Blade will debut on September 6, 2024
According to what Disney shared today, Marvel Studios postponed the vision date of four movies. Accordingly, the movie ‘Blade’, in which Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will play the leading role, has been postponed from November 3, 2023 to September 6, 2024. The production, which will carry the beloved character to the MCU in the fifth phase, lost its director Bassam Tariq in the past weeks. It is not yet known who the new director will be. In addition, some rumors claimed that Mahershala Ali, who will play Blade, did not like the script of the movie.
Fantastic Four delayed to 2025
In the statements made, it was revealed that the Fantastic Four, another highly anticipated MCU movie, was delayed from November 8, 2024 to February 14, 2025. In the past months, it was announced that Matt Shakman, whom we know from the WandaVision TV series, will sit in the director’s chair of the movie.
Deadpool 3 will be released on November 8, 2024
Ryan Reynolds, who gave life to the popular Marvel character Deadpool, recently gave the good news of the future of Deadpool 3. The famous actor also announced that we will see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again in the new movie, and pointed to September 6, 2024 as the vision date.
However, today’s update revealed that the new Deadpool movie has also been delayed. Accordingly, Deadpool 3 will be released on November 8, 2024, when the Fantastic Four will normally be released.
Avengers: Secret Wars delayed to May 1, 2026
Maybe the most anticipated movie of the MCU, Avengers: Secret Wars, also changed the vision date. The production, which will be the subject of one of Marvel’s most beloved stories, was postponed from November 7, 2025 to May 1, 2026.
Apart from these, it was reported that one Marvel movie, whose name is not yet known, was completely removed from the calendar, and another was postponed to November 7, 2025. There are no details about these two films.
