Threads, which managed to become the fastest debuting social media platform, seemed to dethrone Twitter for a while. Although the hype for Threads has largely died down today, many users are still candidates to move away from Twitter, which has turned into play dough in the hands of Elon Musk.

Of course, Mark Zuckerberg also knows that Threads has great potential and that the platform remains very primitive in its current form. He did not hesitate to express his awareness on this issue at the meeting he met with his investors.

Threads has basic work to do:

Speaking at the meeting where the financial situation for the second quarter of 2023 was evaluated, Zuckerberg shared that there are many basic-level tasks to be done on Threads. He added that these include developing and testing features that people already love.

He also underlined that some features may not always be permanent. He opened this issue as follows:

“Many people may like an experience, but you need to constantly adjust it to keep people using it, and we think we’re on a good footing with Threads. There is still a lot of core functionality to build.”

He won’t hesitate to spend money on Threads!

Zuckerberg shared the following words right after the sentence above, explaining that they would not miss out on allocating resources for Threads and that they would pour money when they see an opportunity:

“When we feel we are in a very good place at this, I am extremely confident that we can ‘pour gas’ enough to help it grow. But when we get to the point where there are hundreds of millions of people – assuming we can get there – we worry about making money.”

There is still no clue as to what Zuckerberg and Meta will bring to Threads. We will only dwell on the answer to this question in the coming months. The lack of important developments in the near future will probably cause this application to be forgotten.
