The world’s most popular online photo and video sharing platform, Instagram, announced a new feature called “Broadcast Channel” a while ago. This feature, similar to “Channels” in Telegram, focused on people making announcements. The person who used the feature most actively was undoubtedly Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg shares the new features he will bring to his platforms via the Broadcast Channel.
When we look at Zuckerberg’s latest statements, we see that a new unit has been established in Meta. This new unit; Facebook will try to develop artificial intelligence tools for Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. “We have a lot of work to do before we move on to truly futuristic experiences.” Mark Zuckerberg stated that he is excited about what they will do.
The scope of Meta’s artificial intelligence tools is already clear!
When we look at the statement made by Mark Zuckerberg, we see that artificial intelligence tools will be shaped according to the usage purposes of the platforms. In this context; Text-oriented tools will be created for WhatsApp and Messenger. We will probably come across tools like ChatGPT. On the Instagram front, brand new filters and ad formats are mentioned. Maybe one day we’ll start seeing similar AI tools like Dall-E and Midjourney on Instagram.
However, there is an important point to be aware of here. Mark Zuckerberg and his team have just begun their work. In other words, it is not possible to see advanced artificial intelligence tools in Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook, at least in the short term. Already, Zuckerberg is not ultra-ambitious in this regard.
