Liquid Cooled Bitcoin Mining Step From Bitcoin Miner Marathon Digital
Marathon will collaborate with Abu Dhabi-based digital asset infrastructure development firm Zero Two for the Middle East’s first large-scale liquid-cooled Bitcoin mining operation. This partnership will be supported by Abu Dhabi’s state wealth fund.
US-based miner Marathon Digital will form a joint venture with Zero Two to develop two mining sites with a total mining power of 250 megawatts. These sites will be powered by excess energy in Abu Dhabi, increasing the base load and sustainability of the Middle Eastern capital’s electricity grid.
In this JV project, a new project called ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Markets) will be established and Zero Two will control 80 percent of ADGM and Marathon 20 percent.
As Abu Dhabi’s desert climate makes air-cooled digital asset mining difficult, Marathon and Zero Two have launched an immersion cooling pilot program. This pilot program showed a significant reduction in the maintenance required for ASIC miners to generate hash rates effectively.
