Many key figures contributed to the funding so that blockchain detective ZachXBT’s legal fees could be funded.
Many names in the crypto community have donated to help pay for the case of ZachXBT, known as a blockchain detective. However, the collected donation exceeded one million dollars.
Donations Raised for ZachXBT Over $1M
Blockchain researcher ZachXBT faced a defamation lawsuit. However, he quickly received over $1 million in donations from the crypto community to cover his legal fees. ZachXBT faced a libel lawsuit over a dispute with Jeffrey Huang, also known as MachiBigBrother, on Twitter.
Jeffrey Huang announced in a tweet on June 16 that he was filing a defamation lawsuit against ZachXBT, but did not specify what the allegations were. ZachXBT, on the other hand, stated that it published an article about Huang in 2022, accusing Huang of launching many failed “pump and dump” tokens and NFT projects.
1/ It’s unfortunate I have to make this thread but I am being sued by MachiBigBrother for an article I published in June 2022.
Today Machi filed the defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit is baseless and an attempt to chill free speech. I intend to fight back & defend free speech. pic.twitter.com/anVY6zXU5a

ZachXBT described the case as baseless and an attempt to limit freedom of expression. He asked his followers to donate to help with his legal fees and said he believed the $1 million goal would be easily exceeded.
Many crypto executives have donated to support ZachXBT. Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao praised ZachXBT for keeping the industry transparent and promised that Binance will contribute $50,000 in legal fees. Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell also thanked ZachXBT and announced that he donated 10 Ethereum.
With that, ZachXBT’s litigation costs have been collected.
