Finally, the studio launched Need for Speed ​​Unbound, while keeping the fans in the game with the updates he brought to the game, he managed to extend the life of the game. But apparently, the Need for Speed ​​series will have to wait for a while to return with a new game.

No new NFS game for a while

Criterion has currently confirmed by Vince Zampella, General Manager of EA Studios, which is currently working on the Battlefield series. In a statement to IGN, Zampella stated that Need for Speed ​​would return one day, but he did not give any clear information about when this return would take place.

Zampella said in a statement, “The Need for Speed ​​team in Criterion is joining his colleagues working on Battlefield. As a company, it was important for us to listen to our Need for Speed ​​community last year and to use their feedback while creating content for UNBOUND. We are planning to bring back the series in new and interesting ways by better understanding what our players want in a Need for Speed ​​experience ”. With this statement, it was also approved that there will be no new content to the Union for Speed ​​Unbound.

The second year updates for Need for Speed ​​Unbound, which was released in December 2022, were announced by EA and Criterion in the beginning of 2024. Although most of the studio was directed to support the Battlefield series as of 2023, a small team racing games continued to focus. However, according to the latest developments, it became clear that this team was completely shifted to Battlefield.

For the time being, the name and release date of the new Battlefield game have not been announced. However, EA launched a new community test program called Battlefield Labs, which aims to contribute to the development process of players. The company’s large studios such as DICE, Motive, Criterion and Ripple Effect have come together for this project.
