iOS 17 may not meet expectations
iOS 17 may not be the major update for iPhones. There are rumors that Apple and its engineers are focusing on the AR / VR headset, which is expected to be introduced before WWDC, so the company will spend less time on iOS 17 than planned. The AR/VR headset that will run on xrOS is now expected to be released in 2023.
It will affect other operating systems as well.
iOS 17 will not be the only update to be affected by this situation. All of Apple’s operating systems, including iPadOS 17 for iPads and macOS 14 (Sunburst) for Macs, will innovate less than expected.
iOS 14, announced in 2020, and iOS 16, announced in June last year, were two important updates. They brought redesigned widgets on the home screen, new features added to stock apps such as App Library, Maps, Safari, redesigned lock screen and more. Along with iOS 17, the features of iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10 will be shown at the WWDC event in June this year.
