Developed through a partnership between Georgia Institute of Technology and Brooks Rehabilitation, a device called MagTrack, thanks to its integrated sensors, allows users to monitor connected electronic devices such as power wheelchairs and smartphones. It provides enhanced control.

Offers ease of use with its adaptability

MagTrack comes as a glassless goggle with multiple IMUs (inertial measurement units) that can detect body movements thanks to its accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. The main purpose of the device is shown as the user’s ability to control an electrical device by moving his eyebrow, cheek or tongue. At the same time, head tilt is also among the control parameters.

The device allows you to calibrate each tracker to your specific range of motion and select only those trackers that are needed. With MagTrack, users will be able to seamlessly switch between moving a power wheelchair and being able to control connected devices around them, such as smartphones and computers.

It is stated that the device has been tested by more than 17 electric wheelchair users living with tetraplegia and the results have been successful.
