The update, available for download for supported Mac computers on October 24, brings multitasking from the name Stage Manager, Continuity Camera to use iPhone as a webcam, handoff for FaceTime, a passwordless future-proof Safari passkey, and more.
What’s new in macOS Ventura
Scene Manager, a new way to work with applications and windows; It automatically arranges open applications and windows so that the current window appears in the middle and other open windows appear on the left. Stage Manager works with other macOS windowing tools, including Mission Control and Spaces.
Handoff has arrived on FaceTime. This feature allows users to transfer a FaceTime call initiated on one Apple device to another nearby Apple device. For example; FaceTime call on iPhone or iPad can be continued from Mac computer and vice versa.
Shared Tab Groups in Safari allow family and friends to share their favorite websites in the web browser and see which tabs others are viewing in real time. It’s possible to create a list of bookmarks on the shared start page and even start a FaceTime call or Message chat from Safari.
The Mail app has been updated to include search, recent emails, contacts, documents, photos and more. Scheduling and retrieval of emails is now available in the Apple Mail app. The Mail app also detects if items such as file attachments and recipients are missing.
