Apple has released macOS Ventura 13.2.1, which fixes a vulnerability in WebKit on Mac computers. It is especially recommended for those who use the Safari browser.

According to the Apple Support page, a bug affecting WebKit, the engine behind the Safari browser, was closed with the macOS update released yesterday. Regarding the security issue that attackers use to run arbitrary code, Apple lists the affected version as macOS Ventura in its security notes, but older macOS versions such as macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey also receive the Safari 16.3.1 update, so older Macs are also affected.

macOS 13.2.1 also fixes a bug in the Shortcuts app that could allow apps to monitor unprotected user data. Last month, Apple released the macOS 13.2 update, which closed more than 20 security vulnerabilities. It is useful to check if there is a new update in System Settings – General – Software Update, and if there is, install it.
