Today, although Apple focuses primarily on user security, we see different malware spawning constantly. Finally, a new software has been discovered that threatens especially Mac and Windows users. Disguised as blockchain games, this software captures all user data, from device data to cryptocurrency wallets. Here are the details

Mac and Windows users beware

The malware, reportedly named “Realst” and first discovered in February, was handled by a security researcher named “Ideadlyz” in March. After that, mdeadlyz shared reports that the software reappeared under different names. Now it is stated that this software is used in a large-scale campaign.

Reportedly, “Realst” is disguised as fake blockchain games with campaigns on social media. It is stated that these applications are referred to as Brawl Earth, WildWorld, Dawnland, Destruction, Evolion, Pearl, Olymp of Reptiles and SaintLegend, and they transfer your saved passwords, crypto wallet information and personal data on your device to malicious people.

It should be noted that there is currently no security patch for “Realst”. So much so that SentinelOne researcher Phil Stokes stated that the software targets even macOS 14 Sonoma version and that Apple malware monitoring algorithm Xprotect may not detect Realst as a threat. That’s why we always advise users to be careful when downloading software or files promoted via messages or emails.
