New York-based cosmetics brand MAC Cosmetics is preparing to launch Polygon NFTs to help youth affected by HIV/AIDS. Partnering with ConsenSys for the project, MAC Cosmetics’ NFT collection consists of 5,275 NFTs with different price ranges and rarities.

NFTs were inspired by the art of the famous painter Keith Haring. Animated illustrations have been created combining Haring’s art style with MAC lipsticks.

Keith Haring is an American artist who rose to fame in New York in the 1980s. When she was diagnosed with HIV in 1987, she started practicing her art to raise awareness about the disease.

ConsenSys global co-chair Johnna Powell told Decrypt that ConsenSys will not receive any revenue from the project. Powell said:

“Our primary motivation with ConsenSys NFT is to bring tens of millions of users to MetaMask.”

Proceeds Will Go to Those Affected by HIV/AIDS

MAC and Keith Haring NFTs on 10 April by credit card or NFTs will be delivered via MetaMask, which can be purchased using cryptocurrencies.

All proceeds from primary sales will go to MAC Viva Glam, a nonprofit fund founded in 1994 that provides aid to HIV/AIDS organizations.

Powell added that 2.5% of all secondary OpenSea sales from the NFT collection will go directly to the Keith Haring Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the artist’s work and heritage and providing care for those affected by AIDS.
