The team that disassembled the new model stated that the bottom cover has four screws and the disassembly process is made easy. Most of the connectors are hidden in the M2 MacBook Air model, which has a minimalist design.

Another remarkable change in the device is the positions of the speakers. The speakers, positioned on the left and right sides of MacBook models in previous generations, are hidden between the case and the screen on the M2 MacBook Air.

The motherboard, which has a compact design, is protected by metal plates. The metal plates also have a passive cooling function.

Apple has been soldering components to the motherboard in MacBook models for a while now. By soldering components in the M2 MacBook Air model, Apple makes it difficult for users to repair and replace.

The M2 MacBook Air model comes with a 256GB NAND SSD chip. The device, which has a single NAND chip, has slow SSD performance compared to devices with two NANDs. While SSD read speed reaches about 3 Gbps in M1 MacBook Pro models, this value is 1.5 Gbps in M2 MacBook models.

The M2 MacBook Air has a new Thunderbolt 3 driver and a USI chip for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. However, the new model has a 52.6 Wh battery.
