British automobile manufacturer Lotus introduced its new car “Emeya” at a launch in New York. The fully electric car was produced as a rival to electric cars such as Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan Turbo. The four-door sedan seems to be able to enchant consumers with both its design and technical features. Let’s take a closer look at Lotus Emaya together.
Lotus’ new electric sedan is a car where aerodynamics are highlighted. However, this does not mean that the vehicle does not care about visual aesthetics. The car has a very handsome appearance, and its thin headlights, partially open grille, cameras used as side mirrors and door handles embedded in the body are among the striking design details of the vehicle.
Introducing Lotus Emeya
Lotus Emeya’s sporty design also reveals itself at the rear. In this context; The 11-inch spoiler at the rear is actively used to improve the vehicle’s handling. Lotus Emeya’s rear lights are strip LED and look very stylish.
Lotus’ electric car has an impressive cabin. The driver will use a narrow digital display behind the steering wheel as an instrument cluster. The infotainment screen in the middle will also provide information about the vehicle. The car, which has a 3D surround sound system produced by KEF, has a special acoustic sound technology to isolate the sound of the external environment. In particular, the noise coming from tires and suspensions provides almost zero noise in the interior thanks to the sensors used.
Lotus has an electric motor that produces 905 horsepower and 984 Nm of torque in Emeya, which it calls “our first hyper-GT car.” This engine, which sends power to all four wheels, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 255 km/h. The car, which has 350 kW fast charging support, will offer a range of 150 kilometers with 5 minutes of charging. Let’s say that the charging time of the vehicle from 10 percent to 80 percent is 18 minutes. The company did not give an official figure for the range, but according to industry sources, Lotus Emeya will be able to travel around 600 kilometers.
No price announcement was made for Lotus Emeya. However, the vehicle is expected to start mass production next year and be launched in 2025. Lotus said that it would make brand new statements for Emeya towards the end of the year.
