Pablo Picasso’s painting “Reclining Woman VI”, one of the most famous artists in history, has been missing for a long time. Reclining Woman VI was actually one of eight paintings among former Philippines Prime Minister Ferdinand Marcos’ assets confiscated by the government in 2014. However, the painting confiscated by the corruption court was later revealed to be a copy, and the whereabouts of the original has remained a mystery ever since.

Now it looks like the secret of Picasso’s lost work may finally be revealed. According to new allegations, Reclining Woman VI has been decorating the walls of the house of the former first lady of the Philippines for years.

Reclining Woman VI allegedly in former first lady’s home

the late Ferdinand Marcos, who allegedly embezzled billions of dollars from the Philippines before being overthrown ‘s son, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., won the presidential election this week, and the family once again took over the administration of the Philippines. After this victory, Marcos Jr. shared a few photos of him celebrating his success with his mother, Imelda Marcos, and taken at the former first lady’s home.

Although everything seems normal up to this point, a detail on the wall of Imelda Marcos’ home could not escape the watchful eye. Accordingly, Reclining Woman VI, worth 125 million euros, which should have been one of eight paintings confiscated by the government in order to reclaim the Marcos family’s ill-gotten fortune, could clearly be seen on the wall in photographs taken at mother Marcos’ home.

However, one thing is that it is a known fact that Imelda Marcos bought counterfeit works and did not hesitate to exhibit them. For this reason, it is not yet known whether the Picasso painting in the newly released photos is real or fake. Yet Andres Bautista, who has been tasked by the government with reclaiming the unjust Marcos fortune, is calling on the government to act on it.

In addition, Lauren Greenfield, director of the 2019 documentary The Kingmaker, which focuses on the Marcos family, also confirms that she captured footage of the missing Picasso painting during filming.
