Over the past month, the most talked about series and Lord of the Rings fans was Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series The Rings of Power. While the trailers of the series continued to come, Peter Jackson, the director of the legendary trilogy, complained about Amazon.
Peter Jackson, the producer of the Lord of the Rings movies, is making a plea for The Rings of Power. Jackson states that he was not considered by Amazon. Let’s take a look at what he said.
“They told me the script doesn’t exist yet”
Lord of the Rings series director Peter Jackson said he never saw the script for Amazon’s upcoming series The Rings of Power, despite being asked to take part in the project.
The famous producer and director states in an interview that Amazon contacted him, but when Jackson wanted to see the script, Amazon did not respond:
“They asked me if I would be interested in the drama. I said, ‘Is the script ready?’ I asked. Because I know how difficult it is to write scripts for movies, and I didn’t know the people who wrote the script for the series. They said, ‘No, we don’t have the script yet, but we’ll send it to you as soon as it’s finished.’ I waited for the script to come, but it didn’t.”
