Logitech CEO Bracken Darrell is stepping down after many years at the company. Darrell, who was appointed CEO in 2013, will leave the company in a month to “seize another opportunity,” according to a press release by the Swiss computer peripherals manufacturer.

Logitech is known as a manufacturer of computer accessories, including keyboards, mice, speakers and webcams. The company’s products have become popular, especially during the Covid-19 outbreak, when many people had to switch to distance learning and working. But as people returned to schools and offices, the company’s profits began to wane.

Guy Gecht appointed as interim CEO

Under Darrell’s leadership, Logitech has made significant acquisitions, including high-end microphone maker Blue Microphones ($117 million), gaming headset maker Astro ($85 million), and streaming software company Streamlabs ($89 million).

During the search for a new CEO, Logitech board member Guy Gecht will take on the role of interim CEO. Darrell’s resignation will take effect starting today, but the experienced executive will remain with the company for the next month to ensure a smooth transition.
