The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) has taken a new decision for installment expenditures made with credit cards.
In the decision taken; International expenses related to airlines, travel agencies and accommodation will no longer be paid in installments.
BRSA’s statement on credit card installments;
“As part of the coordinated steps to be taken to strengthen financial stability, as announced to the public on the website of our Agency on July 31, 2023, the risk weights taken into account in the calculation of capital adequacy standard ratios are consumer loans, consumer credit cards, vehicle loans for the purpose of acquiring passenger cars, and loans with vehicle guarantees and loans. It has been decided to increase the amount in terms of financial leasing transactions to be made with consumers.
In addition, the installment periods applied in credit cards; It has been decided not to apply to airlines, travel agencies and accommodation related expenditures abroad and not to make installments in such expenditures.
