At the end of May, Samsung confirmed that the irregular heart rhythm notification feature will come to smartwatches, starting with the soon-to-be-introduced Galaxy Watch 6 models. The company has now shared more details about the feature that will be introduced via the Samsung Health app.

Irregular heart rhythm notification feature is coming

Samsung will roll out the irregular heart rate tracking feature in Argentina, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Panama, UAE, America and South Korea. This feature is intended to identify atrial fibrillation (AFib), although it is not intended to diagnose it. Samsung points out that you are not replacing a doctor, it is only meant to shed light on the problem, one should go to a medical professional.

It will be introduced with the Galaxy Watch 6

Irregular heart rhythm tracking feature will be part of the One UI Watch 5 update and will be given first to the Galaxy Watch 6 series. Then it will come to Galaxy Watch 4 and newer models via software update.
