LG is one of the industry leaders in consumer electronics technologies. The fact that the company introduced one of the most exciting concepts we have ever seen at CES 2022 proves that it will not give up on this feature. This new concept can be described as a “autonomous home on wheels”.
The LG Omnipod is seen as “a mobility concept solution that blurs the distinction between home and car,” as the company says, and as a strikingly expanded part of LG’s Connected Car vision, which was also unveiled at CES 2022. The vehicle has an autonomous structure; that is, it can drive without a driver.
The concept vehicle was unveiled at the virtual press conference of William (Joo Wan) Cho, CEO of LG Electronics. This vehicle can also be thought of as a miniature private jet cabin. The LG Omnipod features a sprawling “Meta Ambient” display system, as well as in-car features like a refrigerator and retractable furniture. These allow us to see it as “personal living space on the road”. We can assume that the “Meta Ambient” display system refers to a series of adaptive interior displays that mimic an external environment preferred by the passenger.
And of course there is the AI Concierge Service. LG predicts that virtual people (avatars) will wait to serve the cabin occupants in this service, and it can be predicted that what is mentioned here will be light, temperature, noise and speed support.
Besides, the menu screen in the image above shows that these AI companions can also order food to your Omnipod, so it is possible to say that they can perform many functions that we cannot fully imagine yet.
At the press conference, it was also explained how the vehicle could be used as a mobile office during the day, as a movie theater for relaxation and in similar scenarios.
As you can imagine, there are no more details about the LG Omnipod at the moment. The mobility concept remains the same, and it seems unlikely that we will examine the brand’s chrome-plated vision for the future in detail for a while. . .
