Electronics giant LG has posted jobs related to blockchain and crypto.
LG is expected to introduce a Smart TV that will allow NFTs to be displayed.
At the Annual General Meeting on March 24, LG Electronics shareholders approved the publication of two postings, “blockchain-based software” development and “cryptocurrency selling and brokerage”.
Although the South Korea-based company has posted a job posting on selling crypto, it doesn’t seem to be working on a digital exchange yet. Asked whether the company plans to launch a trading platform for digital assets, a company spokesperson said, “Nothing has been decided yet… We have just talked extensively about the business areas.”
LG Electronics is teaming up with blockchain company GroundX and NFT solution provider Seoul Auction Blue to promote NFT-enabled Smart TVs, according to a local media report.
LG withdrew from the smartphone and solar panel business last year due to lack of profit. However, the company is the fourth largest company in South Korea.
