Lenovo announced its first joint product with Motorola, which it bought about 9 years ago. Inspired by Lenovo’s ThinkPad series laptops, ThinkPhone by Motorola was introduced at CES 2023. The smartphone stands out with its lightweight aramid fiber back panel that is stronger than steel and its aircraft-grade aluminum frame.

ThinkPhone by Motorola features

Lenovo has launched the ThinkPhone by Motorolay, which combines the ThinkPad laptop with Motorola’s mobile technology. The 6.6-inch OLED screen has a resolution of 2400x1080px and a refresh rate of 144Hz, as well as HDR10 + support.

ThinkPhone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. It comes with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage along with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. On the camera side, there is a 50 Megapixel main camera with PDAF and OIS support, a 13 Megapixel ultra-wide sensor with Macro Vision. The front camera embedded in the screen is 32 Megapixels.

According to the announcement at CES 2023, ThinkPhone has MIL-STD 810H and IP68 certification. So it can withstand water and freezing temperature. It is also powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging with both wired (68W) and wireless (15W) methods.

One of the standout features of ThinkPhone is that it creates an ecosystem with ThinkPad laptops. Users can drag and drop files, including text, photos and documents, and share notifications. It can also use the phone as a webcam and access any Android app from the laptop.

The smartphone will come pre-installed with Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams apps. It is expected to launch in select countries in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia and Asia. ThinkPhone by Motorola price has not been announced yet.
