The last race of the MotoGP season in Spain witnessed a historic moment. Legendary racer Valentino Rossi has retired after a career of twenty years. After Rossi finished the race in tenth place, other teams came to Rossi’s side and congratulated the 42-year-old Italian legend.
A television broadcast was made to congratulate Valentino Rossi, one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, for his achievements, including famous names such as Tom Cruise Keanu Reeves, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Lewis Hamilton, Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo.

Rossi, who was born in Italy in 1979, got on the motorcycle when he was just two years old. When he was five years old, Rossi’s passion for racing began, starting to get on the 100 cc go-kart that his father bought. Reaching the regional kart championship in 1990, Rossi won a total of 16 regional championships in the next year.
Known as one of the best motorcycle racers of all time, Rossi, nicknamed The Doctor, managed to become the World Champion nine times in his career. The championships, 7 of which were in the MotoGP first category, came in 1997,1999,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2008 and 2009 respectively. Rossi, who increased the number of races he made in the “main series” to 372 with the race held in Spain, won 89 times and managed to take place on the podium 199 times.
Announcing that he will retire at the beginning of this season, the 46-year-old driver left behind a legacy of championships with his last race.
