Intel 18A processor, coming in the last quarter of 2024
In recent years, the global chip crisis continues to show its effects heavily all over the world. With this effect, Intel’s chip production suffered some delays. However, the company announced that the Intel 18A processor, which it targeted 2025 in the first place, will come in the last quarter of 2024.
Intel has fallen far behind TSMC and Samsung in recent years. Planning fundamental changes to rise, the company has put in place its plan based on catching up with competitors in 2024 and surpassing them by 2025. In line with these goals, it will come with the Intel 18A, which it defines as cutting-edge technology.
On the other hand, Intel continues its investments. Intel expands to D1X factory in Oregon. So much so that the company built a giant factory for the biggest new chip making machines. On the other hand, the company also renews its machines in the areas it invests in.
Intel had recently ordered the company’s next-generation chip-making machines from ASML as part of an effort to regain its leadership in the industry. According to ASML estimates, these machines will average 340 million each, allowing Intel to regain its leadership in the market.
