Microsoft recently released a cumulative update for Windows 11 devices. The Start menu has become dysfunctional on computers with the latest update.
Windows 11 can now be updated during installation
Microsoft: Few users affected
Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows 11 cumulative update it released recently broke the Start menu. After installing the KB5014668 update – on a small number of computers according to Microsoft – the Start menu does not open at all.
The company says that few Windows 11 users who have installed KB5014668 or later have problems opening the Start menu. Affected devices Start button is completely non-functional; it is not clicked, not selected, does not respond at all when the Windows key is pressed from the keyboard.
Correction released
Microsoft states that it has fixed the issue with the Known Issue Rollback fix, and restarting the device can help the workaround apply faster. It was stated that on enterprise-managed devices, the issue would be resolved by installing and configuring Group Policy.
When will the new update be released?
The next Windows 11 cumulative update is scheduled for release in August. The new update is expected to address security issues in the operating system.
