It turned out that the update also affected some applications for Windows 11, breaking their work. There are problems especially in applications using .NET Framework 3.5. While Microsoft itself has not disclosed all the potential problems caused by the update, it specifically does not allow you to run applications that use the said Framework. The issue affects not only all applications using the .NET Framework 3.5, but also those using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) components.
Microsoft will release a new update
One of the solutions is to uninstall update KB5012463. If for some reason this is not possible, another solution involves restarting the .NET Framework 3.5 and WCF in the list of components and services of the Windows operating system. To do this, open a command prompt and enter the following commands:
- dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all
- dism /online /enable-feature /featurename: WCF-HTTP-Activation
- dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-NonHTTP-Activation
Microsoft is trying to solve the problem in a more reliable way and a new OS update will publish. However, the company has not yet announced when that will happen.
