Technological developments have an impact on the automobile field, as they do in every sector. So much so that we already see many of the elements we encounter in science fiction movies in real life, from self-driving cars to environmentally friendly ones. This situation is also reflected in the designs of the vehicles, revealing that more futuristic looking cars will come in the coming years.
Now operating under the umbrella of Stellantis, Italy-based automaker Lancia introduced a concept car that is not at all similar to traditional vehicles. Lancia, one of Stellantis’ premium vehicle brands like DS and Alfa Romeo, showed us the vehicle at the ‘Design Day’ organized to show its future design goals.
Here is Lancia’s spaceship-like concept design
It immediately draws our attention that the concept vehicle shown by the company does not have a conventional design. The concept shown looks more like a combination of a ‘spaceship’ and a purse seine than a car. In addition, it does not go unnoticed that wheels have not yet been added to the strange-looking car.
According to the company, this concept car is part of a study called Pu+Ra Zero. While Pu+Ra means ‘Pure and Radical’, Zero indicates that the vehicle is a zero-emission electric car. According to Lancia, this whimsical design will inspire three new models to launch at two-year intervals from 2024. The last of these models will be the new version of the manufacturer’s iconic car, Delta. We will see how this design will affect cars in the coming years.
As for Lancia’s other plans; The Italian company will enter its new era with the Ypsilon model, which it will launch in 2024. Let’s say the current design of the Ypsilon is inspired by the Fiat 500. There is no information yet about how the new Ypsilon will look.
