Italian supercar manufacturer giant Lamborghini introduced the new generation of its classic model Countach in the past weeks and made quite a splash with this move. After a while, Lamborghini announced that it had begun restoration work on the LP 500 prototype of the old Countach, which was shown at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show but was badly damaged during a test drive in 1974.
Thus, the Italian giant not only announced the new generation Countach model on the basis of the Aventador, but also resurrected the first Countach, killing two (or probably many more) birds with one stone. It is said that 25,000 hours of work was carried out in a workshop called Polo Storico, a part of Lamborghini, for the restoration of the vehicle in question.
True to the original design
The basis of the mentioned study is based on a millionaire reaching Lamborghine in 2017 and asking whether it is possible to renew the first prototype of the Countach. Since some spare parts of the vehicle cannot be found because they are not produced at the moment, it is also stated that some parts need to be produced again in this process.
For example; The Pirelli Cinturato CN12 tires of the vehicle at the 1971 Geneva Fair had to be replicated. More precisely, although a tire is designed according to today’s chemical components, the patterns and treads of this new tire are similar to the tires of that time. In summary, we can say that the restoration of the renewed Countach adhered to the original model.
The price of the first Countach undergoing restoration is still unknown. Lamborghini insists on not revealing the price; however, we would not be wrong if we say that the price of the new generation Countach will be more than 2.64 million. .
