The foldable smartphone market, in which Samsung is the clear leader, has started to attract the attention of other companies. It was known that Apple was also working on foldable iPhone and iPad devices. Famous analyst Kuo gave new information about these devices.
Foldable iPad with E-Ink display coming?
Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who previously shared Apple’s foldable device plans, gave new information about Apple’s first foldable device. Kuo stated that Apple can use electronic ink technology in this device.
It seems that Apple is testing electronic ink technology in its 9-inch foldable device, which it plans to introduce in 2025. The company is considering using E Ink’s color electronic ink displays on the external display of this device. In Apple’s trials, the device’s 9-inch home screen will offer advanced features, but the external screen will be electronic ink-based, which will significantly save battery and cost savings. Apple’s first foldable device is expected to be a hybrid of iPad and iPhone and will be introduced around 2025. The company has also made foldable iPad and iPhone plans for the following years.
