Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay held the first metaverse meeting with municipal administrators. Mayor Altay had one-on-one contact with the participants at the meeting held in a 3D virtual environment designed specifically for Konya Metropolitan Municipality. At the meeting, where all the functions of different presentation techniques such as screen and hologram were experienced, general information about metaverse studies and how they would be used in municipal services were discussed.

Following the other project presentations planned by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in the metaverse, 3D images of the projects carried out by the municipality were reflected in the middle of the virtual room in a holographic way and examined from different angles.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, in the “Metaverse Meeting Application”, which is the first stage of metaverse studies, gave a speech to the municipality. He stated that a 3D digital meeting room belonging to the company was modeled and transferred to the metaverse environment. President Altay said;
“We are never indifferent to technological developments. We plan the future of our city by taking advantage of the possibilities of technology. We announced at the Barcelona World Smart City Congress for the first time that Konya Metropolitan Municipality started to work on metaverse. For the first time, we evaluated important investments that will add value to the future of our city in the metaverse. At the meeting, we entered the application, in which some data is kept in the blockchain infrastructure, with virtual glasses. Our municipality manager friends attended the digital meeting room with the avatars they chose and made presentations on the normal screen, and made video and presentation demonstrations. In addition, they had the opportunity to examine the 3D designs of some of our projects.”
President Altay continued his words as follows;
“Saving public resources in urban services in Smart City Konya; We want to offer other applications we have planned in the metaverse area to the service of our citizens in order to increase citizen satisfaction, service quality and the participation of our citizens in the management.”
