KIA EV5 will reveal itself on August 25
The brand’s third model, built on the E-GMP architecture, will soon introduce the KIA EV5. The images shared by CarNewsChina, which appeared in the documents of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China, reveal the design of the electric compact SUV model.
The design of the electric SUV model is largely the same as the EV5 concept introduced recently. Production version of the electric vehicle; It departs from the concept model with traditional mirrors, recessed door handles, smaller tires and a revised lighting group.
Following in the footsteps of its older brother, the EV9, the EV5 brings the SUV character to the fore. With a length of 4,615 mm, a width of 1,875 mm and a height of 1,715 mm, the vehicle offers a wheelbase of 2,748 mm. Approaching the EV6 model more in terms of size, the EV5 is easily separated from this vehicle with its high ground structure.
Under the body of the new electric SUV model, there will be an engine that can produce 218 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, positioned on the rear axle. This electric motor will be powered by BYD signed LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery.
However, it is worth remembering that this vehicle is offered for the Chinese market. We will probably not see LFP batteries in the global version. It is also among the information that the vehicle will be equipped with an 82 kWh battery that can offer a range of up to 600 kilometers outside of China.
