Vivek Sharma, vice president of Meta’s Horizon metaverse software, has left the company.
Sharma has held various positions at Meta for nearly six years.
Meta’s Leading Name Resigned
Leaving his role at Meta, Sharma oversaw several VR projects such as the virtual reality-focused online game Second Life and Horizon Worlds.
Meta spokesperson used the following statements in his statement on the subject:
The spokesperson stated that the Horizon team will now report directly to Metaverse Vice President Vishal Shah.
Meta thinks that the metaverse, the digital world that people can access through VR and other augmented reality technologies, will represent the next stage of computing.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta will launch a VR headset in October.
