Keanu Reeves, one of Hollywood’s most famous and talented actors, runs from interviews to interviews as part of the promotion of his new Matrix movie, Resurrections. Recently, Reanu, who participated in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, announced the DC character that he was not accepted, although he wanted to play in the past.
Keanu wanted to play the character of Constantine again!
Although his name has been mentioned with different Marvel productions and especially X-Men lately, the first and only superhero movie Keanu played was Constantine. Constantine, which was released in 2005 and directed by Francis Lawrence, was about a period in the life of one of DC Comics’ famous characters, demon hunter John Constantine.
Constantine, which was shot with a budget of 70-100 million dollars in total, remained in theaters for about 2 months and earned a total of 230 million dollars. Created by Alan Moore, Constantine’s cinematic adventure received mediocre reviews from critics. In contrast, Keanu’s performance of Constantine was quite positive.
Lastly, Reeves, who was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, was asked which of the films he would like to act in, if a new film were to be made in any of the past films. The famous actor admitted that he pressured the producers to shoot Constantine’s sequel many times in the past, but never got a positive response.
Although the sequel to the first movie never came, a series adaptation of Constantine, which takes place in the DC universe, was made in 2014. Lasting only one season and played by Matt Ryan, Constantine was taken off the air at the end of the first season.
