Kaspersky has improved and expanded the list of features available for Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection users. Important updates include the emergence of location cities, as well as the ability for Kaspersky VPN service to be attached to a home router or other connected devices. In addition, Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection now has a dedicated transparency and security page explaining how the service collects and processes personal data in case of law enforcement and government requests.

The trend of remote or hybrid work continues around the world, with many employees choosing to work partially from home in 2021. At the same time, users are now paying more attention to what happens to their online data and trying to protect it. All this has led to the growing popularity of VPN services, which are now used to protect sensitive business data and ensure personal privacy online.

Expanding the list of new location-cities and existing regions

With the latest update, users can now connect to locations-cities as well as regions. 20 cities worldwide are available for connection. City locations now work on Android™, iOS™ and Mac® devices. The Windows® feature will be available early next year. In total, users can connect to more than 70 locations in 54 regions.

With the option to change the location without changing the country, this feature will increase the level of privacy. In addition, it will increase the reliability of the connection and the performance of the service. In addition, if for some reason the most suitable location does not work for the user, another server group can be selected.

Ability to connect routers and other devices to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection

Consumers can protect their home Wi-Fi networks by including routers in VPN through Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection. This feature is available on all devices that support the built-in or standard OpenVPN® client. If the user connects a router to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection, all devices connected to this router are protected.

In addition, users have the ability to connect devices and operating systems (OS) not currently directly supported by the product to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection via OpenVPN. This includes Linux®, Chromebook™, FireTV and AndroidTV. This feature will be available for premium users.

VPN transparency and security page

Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection now has its own transparency and security page explaining how the service collects and processes user’s personal data if requested by law enforcement or governments. This page will help users answer their most important privacy questions. More details can be found here.
