EVM-compatible Kakarot launches on the Starknet testnet in August.
In these days when the crypto market is recovering, the moves made by the projects have started to attract attention. The fact that the rise scenario is talked about a lot also activates crypto projects. In the midst of these processes, Starknet, the Ethereum scaling and layer-2 project, accelerated their time to market. Starknet plans to release the new zkEVM testnet. Kakarot will also be included in this testnet.
Starknet to Launch Kakarot
Ethereum scaling platform Starknet plans to launch a new zkEVM project, Kakarot, on its testnet. Kakarot will contribute to Starknet’s EVM compatibility.
Earlier in the month, Kakarot had strong support from Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, Ledger co-founder Nicholas Bacca, and Starkware. Kakarot produces zkEVM solution for Starknet. In this way, Starknet is taking strong steps to become fully EVM compatible.
Kakarot CEO and co-founder Elias Tazartes stated that Starknet stands out as a leading Zero Knowledge project on the Ethereum side. However, Tazartes stated that despite this strong structure of the project, it was not EVM compatible and therefore barriers to entry emerged. Tazartes underlined that these problems can be solved with Kakarot.
