Jon Favreau Tried To Stop Iron Man’s Death

The first major story arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was unraveled with Avengers: Endgame, and Thanos, the MCU’s main villain, had been defeated so far. The most dramatic scene of the movie is undoubtedly the sacrifice of the Tony Stark character.

It has been announced that Jan Favreau, who made Robert Downey Jr. become Iron Man/Tony Stark and took part in the Iron Man series both as a director and playing the character of Happy Hogan, actually opposed Tony Stark’s death in the Avengers: Endgame movie.

Happy Couldn’t Save Tony For The Last Time

The Russo Brothers made statements about their popular scenes in a program they attended. Among these scenes, of course, was Tony Stark’s famous final scene. The Russo Brothers shared details from behind the scenes.

Accordingly, when Favreau first read the script, he could not believe that Tony Stark would be killed. That’s why he asked the directors if they were serious. In fact, Favreau’s work was not limited to this.

Anthony Russo says he had a long talk with Favreau on the set corners on the phone. In fact, Favreau said to the famous director, “You can’t do this, it will make people cringe, it will make people go out of movie theaters and throw themselves under the traffic, you don’t want that.”

While the Russo Brothers said that they could understand Favreau’s reaction, they stated that they would feel the same if something like this happened to a character they worked hard on. Still, the directors express that they are satisfied with the decision they made regarding the film.
