John McAfee, the founder of antivirus giant McAfee and also a crypto advocate, was allegedly alive.
John McAfee’s ex-girlfriend stated that the reports that McAfee committed suicide in a prison in Spain were false and that McAfee was alive. According to him, McAfee lives in Texas.
According to the New York Post, McAfee’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Herrera made the statement in Netflix’s documentary “Running With the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee”.
According to Herrera’s statement, McAfee, accused of tax evasion, faked his death in Spain:
“I don’t know if I should say it, but two weeks ago I got a call from Texas. “My John. “I paid people to pretend I was dead, but I didn’t die,” he said.
Herrera also says only three people know he’s alive, according to McAfee. Herrera also claimed that McAfee wanted her to run away with him.
John McAfee Facing Charges
Prosecutors accused McAfee of defrauding and pump-and-dump crypto investors. The scammers allegedly used McAfee’s Twitter account to promote the project.
The Justice Department claimed that McAfee made over two million dollars in fraudulent revenue.
McAfee had stated that he would not have committed suicide if he was found dead before his death.
After McAfee’s death, his body has still not been recovered from Spain. His body is still in a Spanish morgue and the case is pending.
