James Webb, a new space telescope that will allow us to study space in greater detail and more clearly, was scheduled to be launched into space on December 18. However, this date has now been pushed back after 22 December. The reason for the delay is an accident that occurred while technicians were placing the telescope on the Ariane 5 rocket, which will take the telescope into space.

According to NASA’s statement, “While connecting, one of the stabilizers opened, causing the telescope to vibrate and vibrate. Additional tests are required to determine whether this vibration is damaging the devices inside the telescope. The results of the tests will be received within the next week.”

The James Webb space telescope, which will replace the Hubble Space Telescope, has been on the agenda for a long time, but it struggles to cope with constant delays. The project, which started in 1996, was planned to send the telescope into space in 2007. But in 2005 its design was changed. This time, 2016 was targeted, but technical difficulties delayed this as well. Construction was completed in 2019, this time it had to be stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apparently, NASA considers all possibilities and wants to be sure of everything in order to avoid another problem. That’s why even the smallest detail is not overlooked.
