READING NOW James Webb revealed the shining heart of a galaxy!

After launching into space last year, NASA’s revolutionary James Webb Space Telescope began operating at full capacity after July. James Webb, the most powerful space telescope that humanity has ever produced, continues to offer us impressive visuals from the depths of space after starting to work.

The galaxy glowing from its center is quite remarkable

The James Webb Space Telescope recently shared a stunning image of the galaxy with an unusually bright center. Located 220 million light-years away in the Pegasus constellation, the galaxy named NGC 7469 has a spiral galaxy feature just like the Milky Way.

The most striking thing in the shared image is the red active galaxy core (AGN) emanating from the center of the galaxy. This region consists of dust swirling around the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy, swirling and radiating heat and light as it travels towards the hole.

The region, which is home to a starburst region where stars continue to form rapidly, is quite special in this regard. The work using Webb aims to explore the relationship between this AGN and the nearby starburst region, and the role played by dust between the two.

This galaxy was studied using the James Webb telescope’s Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI), Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) and Near Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec). The details of this galaxy, which is very interesting with its central light cluster and star movements around it, will continue to be investigated in the coming period.

Besides this main galaxy, it is possible to see many distant galaxies in the background. In the lower left of the image, you can see the galaxy named NGC 5283. We are also very curious about this galaxy that shines in its center. So what do you think about the James Webb Space Telescope and the images it took?
