The bird -themed social network Twitter’s identity may have been changed by the new owner Elon Musk, but this does not prevent the founder Jack Dorsey from using new bird names for a project. Jack Dorsey’s company, Block, said that I am in the artificial intelligence race by releasing the artificial intelligence agent Gooose.

This open -source tool, called “Goose”, allows users to complete various tasks using popular large language models (LLM). In Block’s blog post, Goose is described as an assistant that takes the instructions of users and performs things autonomously.

Goose has arrived to automate your business

According to the company’s statements, this artificial intelligence agent can independently perform software engineering duties. For example, it can perform operations on its own. Block’s Chief Artificial Intelligence Engineer Brad Axen said that Goose was used to automate the company within a few days in minutes and even write “better” and “faster” code from some senior engineers of the company.

Goose can be configured for users to work with large language models they prefer. Supporting popular platforms such as Anthropic, Gemini and OpenAI, the company works in the most efficient way of Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet and OpenAI’s O1. It also offers great flexibility for users thanks to its integration into popular developer tools such as Github and Google Drive.

In one example, Block engineers asked Goose to completely rewrite a platform in a different coding language. Goose rewritten about 70 %of the underlying code in just 30 minutes. It is stated that a software engineer will cost one day or more.

Block is a company known for its financial applications. With payment systems such as Square and Cash App, the music flow platform has Tidal. But Jack Dorsey is a strong advocate of open source software for many years. Goose is not limited to engineering duties, but also can be used in “creative” areas. Axen announced that the company thinks that Goose can be used in creative areas such as music production.

The eye of the corporate world is in artificial intelligence agents

Banks, Hedge Funds and Startups are competing to develop their own artificial intelligence assistants, which will help with coding, stock trading research and advice to customers on financial decisions. Finance companies hope that these intermediaries will fulfill their multi -stage tasks in a autonomous way, not only help employees do their jobs more efficiently, but also allow them to do tasks that have not been possible before.

Normally, intellectual property is very important in the fintech field, but Block shares GOose and basically everything under the hood by making it open. Thus, any engineer, including competitors, gives a brief way to a tool for an AI tool to use, change and distribute even for commercial purposes.
