The Hawk Plus has an architecture of modular panels that can work with the principle of tick-off. In this way, energy systems, communication modules and other subsystems can be easily changed. Argotec’s Product Management President Emilio Fazzoletto stressed that this new structure is both suitable for industrialization and easily adaptable for different tasks.
A platform independent of load
An important advantage of this design is that it makes the satellite platform independent of the load. In this way, appropriate loads can be integrated in the later stages of the production process. In fact, except for the Argotec facilities, the customer’s installation of the customer’s own facilities becomes possible. This allows customers to assemble hidden or special loads in their own facilities.
Argotec plans to produce Hawk Plus modules at the new SpacePark center in Torino. However, the company, which aims to open a new production facility in Florida, USA, plans to realize the production and integration of modules. In this way, hybrid production processes will be possible, such as the final assembly of the components produced in Italy in the USA. The company’s US General Manager Corbett Hoenninger pointed out the importance of providing a standard but flexible solution to customer demands and said that Hawk Plus fully responded to this need.
