MediaTek made a difference in the flagship market last year with its Dimensity 9200 processor. The processor, which competes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, is now preparing to be replaced by the 9300. However, according to a new leak, the Dimensity 9300 processor has started to cause serious headaches for MediaTek due to some of its features. Accordingly, there is a possibility that the Dimensity 9300 processor may encounter a significant heating problem.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300 heating issue may affect processor performance
As you know, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor has a different core sequence of 4 + 4, which has not been tried until now. Accordingly, the processor has 4 high-performance X4 super large cores. These cores will appear with 3 GHz processing power.
The other four cores in the processor will come with the high-performance A720. The processing power of these cores is 2 GHz. However, it should be said here that MediaTek is waiting for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 data for official frequency data.
However, this high-performance core structure was not good for the 9300. According to the information revealed, the processor has an overheating problem.
Frankly, these concerns arose when this interesting core structure appeared among the Dimensity 9300 features. As you know, mobile processor designers such as Snapdragon, Apple and Samsung include two low-performance cores due to these problems.
Generally, these cores are activated at lower frequencies and in simpler operations in smartphones. Thus, the processor heats up less and consumes much less energy.
Judging by the resulting leak, high heat is not the only problem for the 9300. It is also said that the processor creates problems such as humming, especially at high frequencies.
MediaTek will introduce the 9300 processor towards the end of 2023. However, there is a possibility that the calendar will be postponed due to the Dimensity 9300 heating problem.
One of the options is for MediaTek to change the processor core structure. However, the processors have probably been produced and it seems unlikely to enter the production process again.
Predictions are that the frequency speeds of some cores in the processor will be reduced. It is not known whether the Dimensity 9300 heating problem will decrease after this adjustment. However, it is a matter of curiosity how the processor performance will be affected.
