United Kingdom-based opinion research company YouGov conducted a survey of 1007 parents with children under the age of 18 in Germany. As a result of the research carried out to understand the level of smartphone use, it turned out that even 3-year-old babies started to use smartphones. So much so that 4 percent of the parents participating in the study were willing to have their children aged 3-5 use smartphones. Moreover, among these parents, there are those who buy phones for their children.
This is not the only noteworthy aspect of the study. According to 50 percent of the participants in the study, there is no problem in the use of smartphones by children between the ages of 6-11. According to 36 percent, the most ideal age for a child to use a smartphone is between 12-14.
At least follow up
Research by YouGov also revealed a positive result regarding parents. So much so that more than 80 percent of parents with children in the 0-14 age group know exactly what their child is doing on the smartphone. This situation changes slightly as the age group increases.
According to the study, only 62 percent of parents who have children between the ages of 15 and 17 rarely know what their child is doing on a smartphone. The rate of participants who say that they can interfere with their child, albeit rarely, drops to 59 percent. . . The research reveals that parents are more involved than ever before, but this has not been achieved.
