WhatsApp is preparing for another innovation right after the message deletion time has increased. Users can now leave group chats without notifying others. Currently, leaving a WhatsApp group is not an easy thing to do as everyone in the chat is notified when you leave. Because until now there was no way to leave a group without anyone noticing.
But soon, only admins will be notified when someone leaves, instead of notifying everyone in the group. The feature will begin rolling out to all WhatsApp users this month.
This innovation is part of a series of measures WhatsApp has taken to improve privacy. Another tool announced by the firm will allow users to hide their presence so that users cannot see that they are online. WhatsApp is also testing a setting that prevents people from taking screenshots of “View Once” messages that cannot be accessed again after they are first opened.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, which owns WhatsApp, said in a Facebook post Tuesday that it will “continue to develop new ways to protect your messages and keep them as private and secure as in-person conversations.” “We’re focusing on building product features in WhatsApp that allow people to have more control and privacy over their messages,” WhatsApp product manager Ami Vora said in a statement.
