Head of the Israel Securities Authority, Anat Guetta, revealed their plans for how they will regulate the fintech field in the country. The country will take its first step towards broader surveillance in the fintech space by holding a blockchain hackathon next month. The Hackathon will take place on March 24 in Tel Aviv.

With this hackathon, the institution aims to attract blockchain-based solutions that can improve the infrastructure that supports Israeli securities and government debt markets. The institution has also partnered with the Israeli Ministry of Finance and technology providers such as VMware, Digital Asset and Algorand to host this hackathon. The Hackathon will be moderated by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and QEDIT.

Guetta said in a statement on the subject that this hackathon will be part of a larger initiative that will not only collaborate with professionals in the fintech space, but also gather the expertise needed to regulate the fintech and crypto industry.
