Isparta hosted a big problem that would not attract attention had it not been brought up on social media until the last day. There was no electricity for more than 48 hours in some parts of the province, where heavy snowfall was experienced. While the citizens reacted to this situation, it was announced that there was no longer any problem in the province during the last night.

Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced that there were serious damages in the networks due to the heavy snowfall on February 3, due to the ice load. Dönmez, who said that there were electrical problems due to conductor breaks and pole damage and malfunctions in transformer centers, also illuminated the issue of how the intervention took place.

“Personnel from many cities were called”

In his statement, Dönmez stated that the maintenance, repair and emergency response teams of Akdeniz Electricity Distribution Company in Isparta started to work in the first place, but in the face of the magnitude of the incident, additional personnel and equipment were provided from the surrounding provinces. Noting that the works are continuing, Dönmez stated that technical personnel were called from Sivas, Yozgat, Kastamonu, Istanbul, Bursa, İzmir, Konya, Adana, Hatay and Denizli.

“Make your right”

Dönmez said that there is no power grid in the city center and district centers of Isparta, and that a total of 113 thousand subscribers are left without energy in the region. Afterwards, he said that once the work in the center is finished, the teams will be directed to the villages in the countryside, and that there is a lot of information pollution in the social media. Dönmez ended his explanation as follows:

“We thank you for your understanding and patience, take your chances, you were without energy for a few days.”
